What is Raw Honey?

Raw honey is the most original natural liquid that honey bees produce from the concentrated nectar of flowers. Collected from the hives it is totally unheated, unpasteurised, unprocessed honey. Raw foodists love honey for its exceptional nutritional value, and its health benefits. Amylase an enzyme concentrated in flower pollen helps predigest starchy foods such as bread.

Our honey are unprocessed!

A lot of Honey found in supermarkets is not raw honey but ‘processed commercial’ regular honey some of which has been pasteurised for easy filling and bottling. Pasteurisation kills the yeast cells in the honey and prevents fermentation which can affect the taste of the honey. Heating also destroys the enzymes which activate vitamins and minerals in the body.
Our honey is only ever warmed gently to a max of 35-40 degrees before being jarred. This preserves all of its natural beneficial qualities that are present in real raw honey.

Why is honey different in colour and taste?

Our bees collect nectar from different flowers in different seasons this is their food source and is reflected in the taste and colour of the honey produced. What happens during this process is the bees enhance the natural qualities of that particular plant or flower into a nutritional super food.
